Customized Products for Reference

Custom Position Sensors

BST has two molding machines in production line, and that enables BST to customize whatever shapes and size of sensors base on customer's requirement. The latest cases are hall effect speed and direction sensor and vane sensor, these two products are new and different from BST standard products.

From concept to production, BST makes design and customized solution much easier.

Types of Custom Position Sensors for Reference

  • Hall Effect Speed & Direction Sensor

Hall Effect Speed & Direction Sensor

The hall effect sensor is a type of magnetic sensor which can be used for detecting the strength and direction of a magnetic field produced from a permanent magnet or an electromagnet with its output varying in proportion to the strength of the magnetic field being detected.
  • Vane Sensor

    Vane Sensor

The Hall Effect vane sensor consist of a Hall IC and a permanent magnet , which are hermetically sealed in plastic. The sensor is actuated by a soft iron vane that passes through the air gap between the magnet and Hall IC.

BST Customized Sensor FAQs

  • What kind of sensor can be customized?

Hall sensor, reed sensor and capacitive sensor are available, BST can help to customize on cable length, shape, size and connector etc.

  • Do customers need to pay extra cost on customized product?

If the design is inclusively owned by customer, customer needs to pay for a design cost.

  • Will BST test the customized products before phasing into production?

Yes, BST has a lab to run all kinds of tests.

Reed Sensor and Hall Sensor

What's the Difference

Reed switches and Hall Effect switches are both considered magnetic switches since their properties change when exposed to a magnetic field. Strictly speaking, however, Hall Effect switches are transducers since they convert magnetic energy to electrical energy—they can be used as switches with some additional circuitry. Reed switches are true magnetic switches since they close or open in the presence or absence of a magnetic field.
