An current inductor is a passive electrical component that stores energy in a magnetic field when electric current flows through it. A magnetic inductor usually consists of an insulated wire wound into a coil, with two terminals. It may have a magnetic core inside the coil, such as an air core, an iron core or a ferrite core.
When an electric current passes through the coil of the inductor, a magnetic field is generated around it. According to Faraday's law of induction, when the current flowing through the coil changes, the time-varying magnetic field will induce an electromotive force (emf) in the conductor. The induced voltage has a polarity that opposes the change in current that created it. That is, it resists any changes in the current through it. BST inductor coil manufacturer provides custom inductor for various applications.
Ferrite core inductors can ben classified by many standards, one of the most popular way is to classified by core design
Toroidal Core Inductor: The coil is wound on a toroidal core, which has very low flux leakage, but requires special winding machines for manufacturing.
Drum/Bobbin Core Inductor: The coil is wound on a bobbin. These bobbin inductors or drum inductors vary widely in power rating, voltage and current levels, and operating frequency, and are mostly used in switch mode power supplies and power conversion applications.
